Charities  / Tournaments:
Hosts an annual golf tournament (John Smoltz Celebrity Pro-AM) to benefit the Scottish Rite Children's Medical Center (Atlanta) child care fund.

Active in Atlanta's Table, a project of the Atlanta Community Food Bank (in 1998 donated $50 for every strikeout).
